How All4One works

All4One is a privacy-first file converter. Supported conversions run locally in your browser.

Do my files get uploaded?

For supported browser conversions, no. The conversion engine runs on your device and the resulting file is created locally. A4O sends the server the conversion metadata needed to reserve and settle your credit, not the file contents.

Why does A4O reserve a credit first?

The server reserves one credit before the local conversion begins. If the conversion fails, the reserved credit is automatically refunded. Reservations also expire and restore the credit if the browser disappears mid-conversion.

How does pricing work?

Your first conversion is free. After that, supported conversions cost CA$1 each. You can buy prepaid conversion credit through Stripe. There is no subscription.

What formats are supported?

The format registry recognizes many formats, but recognition is broader than the actual conversion engine. The converter only offers routes that the current browser engine can perform.

What happens if a conversion looks slow?

For conversions estimated to take more than about ten seconds, A4O asks for confirmation before reserving the credit and starting the work.

I changed devices. How do I recover my credit?

Open Add credit and use Recovery & transfer. Create a one-time recovery code on the old browser and claim it on the new one. Keep the code private.

Something went wrong.

Use the contact form and include the filename only if it helps explain the problem. Do not send the file itself unless support specifically asks for it.
